Kuwait has held talks with the World Tourism Organization (WTO) seeking its expertise to overhaul the sector in the Gulf State.<\/p>\n
Saud Al-Khaldi, the assistant undersecretary of the tourism sector, held the discussions with the organization secretary general, Zurab Pololikashvili, and Basmah Al-Mayman, the Middle East regional director at the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), on the fringes of the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR), hosted by Madrid.<\/p>\n
In remarks to KUNA, Al-Khaldi indicated that the talks dealt with consultation, expertise exchange and possible dispatch of a delegation to Kuwait to examine the country’s needs in the sector.<\/p>\n
Among the discussed ideas was holding an exhibition in Kuwait to promote the country’s tourist potentials and means of developing the sector, in addition to training national cadres and prospected overhaul of the hotels’ sector.<\/p>\n
Al-Khaldi expressed hope that cooperation at this level be promoted, noting that Kuwait is one of the organization’s founders.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
