Sudanese Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Army Chief Abdulfattah Al-Burhan attributed postponing the signing of the political agreement to aims of solidifying the framework.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
In a speech delivered on occasion of the anniversary of the April 1985 Uprising, Al-Burhan renewed commitment to moving forward with the political process adding that putting in place solid frameworks for the agreement maintains the momentum and vigor of the revolution.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The 6th of April also marks the day demonstrators entered army headquarters in 2019, protesting the Omar Al-Bashir presidency.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Forces for Freedom and Change (FFC) had announced the postponement of the signing of the final political agreement, which was scheduled for Thursday, due to resumption of joint talks on security and military reforms.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
This is the second time the signing is postponed as it was slated for April 1 and was delayed to Thursday, April 6.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
On December 5 2022, Sudanese political parties and the military signed a framework deal aiming to pave the way for a final peace accord.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
