Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques, in its second phase, will renovate the Al-Hazimi Mosque, the oldest historical mosque east of Al-Aflaj Governorate, whose construction dates back more than 100 years, as part of the project’s plans to preserve the Islamic heritage, as well as maintain the architectural style that distinguishes each region.<\/P>

The Prince Muhammad bin Salman project for the development of historical mosques will renovate Al-Hazimi Mosque, which used to be a scientific and cultural beacon for the villagers and the neighbouring towns. The Mosque, which can accommodate up to 100 worshippers, was built according to the Najdi style by utilizing natural resources and can withstand the hot desert and climate conditions, while the formation of the elements of the Najdi style reflects the local culture.<\/P>

The rehabilitation process is based on measuring all parts that are targeted in the renovation process and having them prepared before they are delivered to the mosque location. The used wood is traditionally decorated using a sharp material to draw shapes, in a step through which the project seeks to revive the architectural traditions of historical mosques and enhance public awareness of the need to take care of this ancient heritage and the importance of preserving it for many years to come.<\/P>

Al-Hazimi Mosque is part of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques, which includes 30 mosques in all regions across the Kingdom.<\/P>
