The General Department of Cultural Affairs and Women\u2019s Activities and Events, an affiliate of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet\u2019s Mosque, has displayed seven rare manuscripts inside the exhibition of the Women\u2019s Library of the Grand Mosque of Makkah, most notably the Ottoman Qur\u2019an that was written during the reign of Caliph Othman bin Affan; a unique painting that includes the verses of the Holy Qur\u2019an by the calligrapher Mohammad Ibrahim; the only copy in the world of Musnad Al-Muwatta; a group of newspapers dating back 60 years; and two other historical manuscripts, it was reported.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
In remarks on the event, Omaima bint Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, Director of the General Department of Cultural Affairs, Women\u2019s Activities and Events, said that the exhibition contains twelve private libraries as well as a mural documenting the development stages the library went through, and displays some precious manuscripts, copies of the Holy Qur\u2019an, old newspapers, old and modern photographs of the Grand Mosque and the city of Makkah.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
