10 more rivals join Kuwait electoral race

On the fifth day of registration, another 10 people, including eight males and two females, on Friday submitted candidacy applications to the election watchdog to run for the forthcoming General Assembly (parliament) election slated for September 29th.

The new candidates have thus brought up the total number of rivals to 273 so far, involving 256 males and 17 females.

Meanwhile, Ali Al-Salman, a candidate of the First Constituency, has scrapped his nomination request, becoming the first rival to give up the race since candidacy registration started.

On August 29, the election watchdog opened the door for registration for the coming electoral race, proceeding until September 7.
