4.5 billion dollars, the volume of Iranian exports to Iraq in the first half of 2023

Iranian Customs announced that the volume of the Islamic Republic’s exports to Iraq reached 4 billion and 500 million dollars during the first half of 2023.

The official Iranian “IRNA” Agency quoted the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Sunday (October 15, 2023), as saying, “The volume of Iranian exports to Iraq has reached 4 billion and 500 million dollars out of the total volume of exports, which amounted to 24 billion and 144 million dollars during the first half of this year.

Iran considers Iraq its best economic opportunity among neighboring countries, as it has the longest common land borders with it.”

Recently, an exhibition of Iranian export capabilities was held in Baghdad under the title of the Third Iranian Trade Fair, and some Iranian businessmen described the Iraqi market as the best export opportunity for Iran.

The Secretary-General of the Joint Iranian-Iraqi Chamber of Commerce, Jahanbakhsh Sanjabi Shirazi, believes that “the competitive advantages that Iran enjoys in the Iraqi market have made the prospects for Iranian-Iraqi trade promising in the future.”

According to Sanjabi Shirazi, there are eight official borders with Iraq, and “the numerous crossings, cultural advantages, and popular ties can increase the volume of Iranian-Iraqi trade from the current $10 billion to $20 billion annually.”/End
