A Delegation From The Kurdistan Region Will Arrives In Baghdad Today

A delegation from the Kurdistan region will arrive in Baghdad today, Monday, to discuss the issue of border crossings and ways to solve its problems.

It is scheduled, according to the Rudaw Kurdish media network, that the delegation will participate in a meeting on the issue of border crossings and problems related to customs and fees at border crossings within the federal budget law.

The delegation includes the Minister of the Interior of the Kurdistan Region, Riber Ahmed, and the Director General of the Customs of the Kurdistan Region, Samal Abdul Rahman.

The Council of the Iraqi Border Crossings Authority is chaired by the Head of the Authority, Omar Al-Waeli, and includes the directors of the border crossings as members of the Council.

According to the Federal General Budget Law, the Kurdistan Region must hand over 50% of the revenues of its border crossings to the Iraqi Ministry of Finance, as one of the conditions for releasing the Kurdistan Region’s share of the general budget, and this share amounts to approximately 16 trillion dinars for this year.
