A Drug Dealer And 4 Accused Of Manipulating Exchange Rates Arrested In Baghdad And Najaf

The Ministry of Defense announced that the intelligence and security detachments arrested a drug dealer and 4 people accused of manipulating exchange rates in Baghdad and Najaf.

The ministry said in a statement: “Through accurate intelligence information, the detachments of al-Najaf Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated to the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense were able to arrest a drug dealer, and seized (one and a half kilograms) of narcotic crystal and an amount of money in his possession, through a tight ambush carried out by the directorate’s detachments at one of the entrances to Najaf Governorate.”

The statement added: “In a separate operation, detachments of Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated to the aforementioned directorate arrested (4) suspects in Shorja and Kam Al-Arman regions of Baghdad, who manipulate exchange rates contrary to the instructions of the Central Bank, and the necessary measures were taken against them and they were referred to the judiciary.”
