Deputy Head of the Strategic Center for Human Rights, lawyer Hazem Al-Rudaini, warned against imposing new taxes in the 2023 budget.

Al-Rudaini said in a statement: The House of Representatives is required not to pass the paragraphs related to imposing new taxes on imported fuel of all kinds, because it has negative effects on the Iraqi citizen, because it will lead to an increase in the costs of transporting people, materials and all locally manufactured materials, and thus an increase in the prices of most basic materials.

He added: There are alternative solutions, the most important of which is reducing the amounts of the investment budget, in which there was a boom, which is the largest in the history of the financial budgets of the Iraqi government.
