A Russian Su-27 fighter accompanied two American B-1B strategic bombers, which tried to approach Russian airspace over the Baltic Sea.

The Russian National Defense Center reported that the radars detected two unknown targets approaching the Russian border, which prompted the Russian army to launch the Su-27 fighter to verify their identities.

The center stated that the Russian plane’s crew conducted a patrol over the Baltic Sea, during which it determined that the two targets were two American B-1B strategic bombers.

He added that the Russian Su-27 plane returned to its base, after the two American planes moved away.
