Al-Araji Discusses with the Executive Director of Counter-Terrorism at the UN the Continued Support of the Int’l Community for Iraq

The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, met in New York today, Wednesday, with the Executive Director of Counter-Terrorism at the United Nations, Natalie Sherman.

The National Security Chancellory said in a statement: “The meeting comes on the sidelines of the third high-level United Nations conference for heads of counter-terrorism agencies, which is being held in New York.”

Al-Araji discussed with Sherman all issues and files of common interest, especially the fight against terrorism, the Syrian Al-Hol camp, and the displaced.

Al-Araji reviewed the Iraqi government’s procedures, vision and plans, which were included in the promising ministerial program of the government, with regard to the return of the displaced and the reconstruction of cities destroyed by terrorism.

He also expressed Iraq’s aspiration for more international support and assistance in the files it deals with, because it defended its security and the security of the region and the world as a whole, which requires intensifying the international effort and turning it towards Iraq.
