Al-Hajri: all 21-year-old Kuwaitis eligible voters in ’22 parliamentary elections

Every Kuwaiti who is 21 years of age is eligible to vote in the National Assembly election of 2022, said an official at the Ministry on Monday.
Head of the elections affairs committee Colonel Dr. Ahmad Al-Hajri told KUNA that eligible voters using their civil ID cards would cast their ballot at the constituencies corresponding to the address specified within the document.
All eligible voters could verify their voting registration at their local police stations corresponding to their residential address in the civil ID cards, Dr. Al-Hajri affirmed.
The official said that voters have the right to contest the inclusion of their names in the voting list of certain constituencies and they could also change their constituencies via submitting a request to the elections affairs department.
Those excluded from the voters’ list could also contest the procedure legally, Al-Hajri added.
The official indicated that during Election Day, voters need to bring along their citizenship and civil ID cards to complete their voting process.
Those who lost their citizenship card could head to the department citizenship and traveling documents to obtain a ‘to whom it may concern paper’ to enable them to vote during Election Day, he revealed.
The cabinet approved recently voting via using civil ID cards and it also included new areas in four constituencies.
