The Assistant Secretary General and Head of International Political Affairs at the Arab League, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Manzalawi, stressed the General Secretariat’s readiness to move ahead with coordination between concerned Arab and Chinese stakeholders to implement the outcomes of the first Arab-Chinese summit in various political, economic, and social fields, which were included in the summit’s three documents and other topics mentioned in executive programs of the China–Arab States Cooperation Forum.
Dr. Al-Manzalawi made his remarks during his address today at the opening meeting of the fourth session of the China-Arab States Forum on Reform and Development in Shanghai, organized by the China-Arab Research Center on Reform and Development and inaugurated by China’s Special Envoy on the Middle Eastern Issue Zhai Jun, with the participation of several ministers, senior officials, experts, and intellectuals from both sides.
In his speech distributed today by the General Secretariat of the Arab League, he referred to the importance of the outcomes of the first Arab-Chinese Summit held last December in Riyadh, which require all stakeholders in governments and the private sector to continue efforts to realize these outcomes within the framework of the laws being implemented in our countries, in a way that enables realizing sustainable development in Arab countries and China.
Dr. Al-Manzalawi reaffirmed the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative and its promising opportunities for cooperation, mutual benefit, and sustainable development, and for working to build an Arab-Chinese society for the common future, to contribute to building the future society for humanity.
He explained that the agenda of the fourth session of the Arab Forum for Reform and Development includes important items, such as looking for ways to implement the outcomes of the first Arab-Chinese Summit and work to build Chinese-Arab society for the common future in the new era, as well as implementing the Global Development Initiative, enhancing cooperation in building the Belt and Road Initiative with high quality, and advancing the level of Arab-Chinese cooperation.
