Athletic performances excel on 2nd day of U18 Asian Championships

Second day of the 2022 Kuwait U18 Asian Youth Athletic Championships, commenced at the track and field stadium in Kaifan with a great deal of athletic performances of 33 Asian teams.

The event kicked-off with the boys 110m hurdles, topped by Chinese Taipei’s Yuan-Kai Hsieh while in second for silver was Muhammad Fiross of Malaysia, and Brian Swara from India in third.

Iran’s Seyed Mohammad Aghaei managed the gold medal in the boys 400m’s, meanwhile Sri Lanka snatched second and third with their athletes Jayathilake Praveen and Rajapaksha Pathiranage.

In the boys javelin throw category, Chinese Taipei athlete Choa-hong Huang fared for gold, to be trailed by India’s Arjun in second and Himanshu Mishra with bronze.

As for the decathlon event, Uzbekistan’s Nodir Norbaev scored the highest points (3680 pts) out of four events (LJ, SP, HJ, 400m) followed by a close runner-up Sina Afshinfar of Iran, to be trialed by Saudi athlete Ahmed Al-Khazali in third place.

The U18 girls athletes began with high jump event, which resulted in Uzbekistan’s Sayfulaeva Barnokhon placing in first with a 1.84m score, while in second Alina Chistyakova from Kazakhistan and Bui Thi Kim Anh from Vietnam in third.

The girls performances also exceled in today’s events, where in the 400m event Hoang Thuc of Vietnam won first place by reaching the finish line in 55.03 seconds, followed by two Indian Athletes Isha Jadhav for silver and Anushka Kumbah for bronze.

Indonesia managed first place for the 100m event, as Valentin Lonteng snatches gold trailed by Thailand’s Athicha Phetkun, putting Tsz To Li of Hong Kong in third spot.

As for the 100m hurdles, Hong Kong’s athlete Hoi Man Pak, with a result of 14.02 seconds places in first, India’s Sabita Toppo placed in second, and Irene-li Lai of Chinese Taippe in third.

Both categories U18 boys and girls where performing at a very high rate in terms of results, with almost 400 athletes and staff team members partaking in the scheduled venue of this prominent tournament of peers.
