Baghdad Crime Control: Arrest of a number of wanted persons within the Arbaeen Pilgrimage Security Plan

Baghdad Crime Control Directorate announced today, Friday, the arrest of a number of accused and wanted persons within the Arbaeen Pilgrimage Security Plan.

The Directorate said in a statement: “The detachments of the Baghdad Crime Control Directorate conducted multiple security practices in various areas of Baghdad within the Arbaeen Pilgrimage Security Plan for Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)”, noting that “these practices included widespread deployment, setting up temporary security points, searching vehicles and motorcycles, checking their identification papers and matching them with the identities of their occupants.”

It added that “these efforts resulted in the arrest of a number of those wanted by the judiciary, and the seizure of (5) vehicles and (6) motorcycles whose owners did not have identification papers,” indicating that “legal measures were taken against them so that they would receive their just punishment.”
