Baghdad Operations carries out a preemptive security operation in the vicinity of the Capital


Baghdad Operations Command forces carried out preemptive operations in the vicinity of the capital, resulting in the arrest of a number of suspects according to various legal articles.

A statement by the Baghdad Operations Command stated that: “Within the preemptive operations and the security plan to secure the Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and to enhance security and stability in the areas adjacent to the routes of movement of visitors, the security forces carried out, through the infantry divisions (6th, 17th) and the units attached to them, in coordination with the Intelligence and Security Department / Command, preemptive operations to search and inspect the regions and set up temporary surprise checkpoints and implement judicial arrest warrants that included a number of areas north and south of the capital, Baghdad, resulting in the arrest of a number of accused according to various legal articles.

He explained: “These operations come in conjunction with the approach of the Arbaeen
pilgrimage with the aim of preventing anyone who dares to tamper with the security and safety of visitors, and providing a stable and secure atmosphere during the days of the pilgrimage.
