Biden Urges Netanyahu To Reduce Civilian Casualties

US President Joe Biden urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a phone call yesterday evening, Tuesday, to reduce civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip, which Israel continues to bomb in the wake of an attack launched by the Hamas movement that caused a large number of Israeli deaths.

NBC News quoted officials as saying that the Biden administration is coordinating with other countries on a plan that would provide safe passage for civilians to leave Gaza.

The NBC indicated that the plan being discussed is based on the possibility of civilians leaving via a southern corridor leading to Egypt.

In turn, the White House said in a statement that Biden and Netanyahu discussed US military support for Israel in a phone call yesterday, Tuesday, and agreed to speak again in the next few days.

Netanyahu informed Biden that Hamas attacked Israel on Saturday with “unprecedented brutality since the Holocaust” during World War II.
