Biography of Major General Mohammed Berrid, New Inspector General of FAR and Commander of Southern Zone

Major General Mohammed Berrid, whom HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), may God assist him, has appointed Inspector General of FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, was born in 1955.

Graduated from the Royal Military Academy (Armored), Major General Mohammed Berrid has a rich military experience of about 43 years in the field of force preparation and training, says a statement by FAR General Staff.

He graduated from the Collège Interarmées de Défense in France with a Master in National Defense.

Major General Mohammed Berrid has held several positions of responsibility, including the 3rd and 4th Royal Tank Regiments. He served as a Staff Officer in the field of training and force employment, before heading the 3rd Office of the General Staff of FAR since 2014. Currently, Major General Mohammed Berrid has been appointed Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone.

Married and father of four children, Major General Mohammed Berrid holds several high decorations, including the medal of “Officer of the Order of the Throne”, according to the statement.
