Border Guards Thwart Attempt to Smuggle of 29 Tons of Khat, 421 Kilograms of Hashish

The Border Guards in Najran, Jazan, Asir, Eastern Region, and Makkah successfully foiled multiple smuggling attempts, as stated by the Spokesman for the Border Guards, Colonel Misfer Al-Quraini. These patrols managed to intercept and seize a total of 29 tons of khat, 421 kilograms of hashish, and 108,422 pills subject to medical regulation. The smugglers involved in these operations are facing legal consequences, and the confiscated items have been handed over to the appropriate authorities.

Security authorities call on the public to report information concerning drug smuggling or selling by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions. They may also contact the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at 995 or through email: 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality.
