Minister of Defense, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Sabah, affirmed Thursday that translation of political leadership’s directives comes into effect through diligent work, prioritizing the state’s interest, application of law and protection of public funds.

This came in the Defense Minister’s speech given in the attendance of ministry high officials on occasion of the minister assuming office, the Army’s general staff said in a statement.

Minister Al-Sabah stated that there are great challenges ahead that would require all to work towards easing of hurdles, and affirmed that Kuwait’s political leadership is attentive to cultivating the skills and capabilities of the armed forces.

He further added that it is their duty to extend bridges of cooperation and coordination with various state bodies in order to accelerate pace of progress and achievement, and highlighted necessity of creating adequate supportive work environment in ministry to arrive at the sought after results.

Furthermore, the newly appointed Minister expressed much gratitude for His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Deputy Amir His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf Al-Sabah for their valuable trust.

He also voiced thanks for First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Sabah for all his efforts when he occupied the same office, and extended his deep appreciation for all who work in the ministry for their hard work and serious determination
