The Arab Republic of Egypt welcomed the efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman to support reaching a sustainable solution to the crisis in Yemen, as well as the Kingdom’s hosting of a round of talks with a Yemeni delegation from Sana’a to support those efforts.

In a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Egypt renewed its emphasis on supporting all efforts aimed at ending the crisis in Yemen and reaching a sustainable political solution based on the approved solution references, represented by the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanisms, the outcomes of the comprehensive Yemeni national dialogue, as well as Security Council Resolution 2216, stressing the constants of the Egyptian position calling for the importance of supporting an inclusive political process for all Yemeni parties that preserves the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Yemeni people.
