The Environment Public Authority (EPA) declared on Thursday appointing environmental observers at the state institutions to oversee “the environmental performance.” EPA Chairman and Director General Sheikh Abdullah Ahmad Al-Humoud Al-Sabah made the announcement after the first meeting of the observers, noting that the decision was one of the most significant steps undertaken by EPA for preserving the environment and combating pollution.

The observers will monitor adherence to environmental terms and regulations, he said, affirming that their task would back up EPA’s efforts to tackle any shortcoming in conserving the environment in the country.

He urged all state authorities to cooperate with the observers and provide them with all needed documents for attaining the objective of maintaining the environment
