FM: Kuwait’s position towards Palestinian cause firm, unchanged

The Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah stressed Kuwait’s position towards supporting the Palestinian cause, adding that will remain firm until the Palestinians obtain all their legitimate rights and establish their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967.

This came in a speech by Sheikh Dr. Ahmad during the National Assembly private session, Thursday.

He said that 120 raids were launched by 52 Israeli warplanes within 25 minutes, during which the innocent were terrified and killed, destroying the infrastructure and bombing mosques, homes, schools, media headquarters, and others.

This aggression continued for 11 days, resulting in the killing of 277 Palestinians, including 70 children, 40 women and 15 elderly, in addition to the injury of more than 8,000 people, the destruction of more than 1,500 apartments and 50 schools, and the displacement of more than 75,000families, he added.

The minister affirmed that the “heinous” crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces amount to war crimes, which require intense regional and international action.

He pointed out that Kuwait has contacted brotherly and friendly countries to stop these Israeli attacks and its contribution and participation in all regional and international forums, especially the emergency meeting of the League of Arab States at the level of foreign ministers and the extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Sheikh Dr. Ahmad noted that Kuwait participated in the emergency session of the Security Council and the special session of the United Nations General Assembly in order to exert pressure and support regional and international efforts to stop the Israeli aggression and put an end to these attacks.

Moreover, he said that Kuwait welcomed the ceasefire agreement was reached between Israel and Palestine.

Sheikh Ahmad thanked the Parliament Speaker and the MPs for the invitation to hold a special session to discuss the Israeli aggressions in Palestine.
