Foreign Minister Takes Part in Meeting of Arab Ministerial Contact Group Concerned with Developments of Situation in Sudan

Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the Meeting of the Arab Ministerial Contact Group Concerned with the Developments of the Situation in the Republic of Sudan, held in Jeddah today. The meeting included the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry, and the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed the key contents of the Jeddah Declaration, with a focus on the commitment to safeguarding civilians in Sudan. The Foreign Minister emphasized the dedication to consolidating this agreement and called upon the conflicting parties to genuinely engage in the dialogue process. Such efforts are crucial in alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people, ensuring their safety, and preserving the territorial integrity of their lands.

Additionally, the meeting discussed the ongoing efforts of the Arab Ministerial Contact Group and its commendable endeavors in fostering dialogue among all Sudanese parties. The objective is to promote wise decision-making and prioritize the best interests of Sudan, ultimately reaching solutions that fulfil the aspirations of the Sudanese people in terms of security, stability, and development.
