Franco-Arab commerce chief sees upward trend in Kuwait economic growth

Global indicators have shown that Kuwait’s economy is on track towards sustainable economic growth, as envisaged by its “Vision 2035” plan, the chief of the Franco-Arab Chamber of Commerce said on Wednesday.

Citing the Kuwaiti economy’s “numerous strengths,” including its ability to lure foreign investment, Vincent Reina urged French firms to explore business opportunities in Kuwait.

Against the backdrop of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Franco-Kuwaiti diplomatic ties, he said these relations are based on mutual “amity and transparency.” Bilateral trade surged to USD 1.13 billion last year despite the outbreak of the COVID pandemic, according to Kuwait’s ambassador to Paris Sami Al-Sulaiman, adding that Franco-Kuwaiti trade and investment deals date back to 1973.

Naming Kuwait as among the region’s “most developed” nations, France’s ambassador to Kuwait Claire Le Flecher said it was imperative that bilateral ties remain on an upward trajectory
