Gulf Red Crescent Societies keen on spreading voluntary work culture – KRCS

Red Crescent Societies within Gulf countries toil relentlessly towards spreading voluntary work culture, growing it and recognizing its role in societal development, affirmed Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), Sunday.

Head of Public Relations and Media Department in KRCS, Khaled Al-Zaid, on sideline of celebrating Gulf Red Crescent day, wished for this occasion to be a starting point towards more synergy between Red Crescent societies to better serve humanitarian situations.

Red Crescent bodies in the Gulf, he commented, prioritized humanitarian voluntary work, and issued several decisions aiming to encourage youth, organize voluntary work, and enhance charitable efforts.

Gulf Red Crescent Day, with the slogan (Volunteer for a Sustainable Future in the Gulf), was held in a school where a lecture on the establishment of KRCS was given and another on first aid for teachers and students. Al-Zaid thanked Ministry of Education for their efforts in spreading voluntary work culture.

The very first meeting between Gulf Red Crescent Societies was held on October 23rd of 1984, in Emirati capital of Abu Dhabi.
