The Kurdistan Genocide Writers Union announced, on Tuesday, the kidnapping of a prominent activist in the field of genocide in Erbil Governorate.

The union said in a statement, “Last night, gunmen kidnapped the activist in the field of genocide in Kurdistan, Ali Mahmoud, from his home.”

The union called on the security services and relevant authorities to reveal his fate and protect him.

The statement stated, “Ali Mahmoud is one of the founders of the Union of Genocide Writers in Kurdistan and a member of the Supreme Council of the Union.”
