Head Coach Regragui Unveils Squad for AFCON 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire


Salé – In a press conference held at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in MaSmora on Thursday, Morocco’s head coach Walid Regragui unveiled the 27-man squad selected to represent Morocco in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The tournament is scheduled to take place in Côte d’Ivoire from January 13 to February 11.

The roster, marked by a mix of seasoned players from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and emerging talents, showcases a blend of experience and youthful vigor. Notable inclusions are Chadi Riyad from Spain’s Real Betis, Amir Richardson from France’s Stade de Reims, and Oussama El Azzouzi from Italy’s Bologna FC.

The Atlas Lions are drawn into Group F alongside contenders Tanzania, DR Congo, and Zambia. Their AFCON campaign kicks off on January 17 against Tanzania, followed by pivotal clashes against DR Congo on January 21 and Zambia on January 24.

The tournament, set to unfold in the Ivorian cities of Abidjan, Bouaké, Korhogo, San Pedro, and Yamoussoukro, promises fierce competition and is ea
