Riyadh, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who was given an official reception ceremony at the Royal Court at Al Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.
HRH the Crown Prince and the Indonesian president held an official discussion session. HRH the Crown Prince also welcomed the Indonesian president, who expressed his happiness with this visit and meeting with HRH the Crown Prince.
During their meeting, the two leaders discussed the current state of their bilateral ties, explored opportunities for further cooperation in various fields, and strategized ways to develop and enhance their partnership. They exchanged their views on the most recent regional and international developments and the ongoing efforts made towards them. The two leaders also touched upon various issues of mutual interest.
HRH the Crown Prince and the Indonesian president attended the signing of several bilateral agreements, which included the following:
1- The Saudi-Indonesian Supreme Coordination Council Agreement, which was signed on the Saudi side by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and on the Indonesian side by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.
2- The two parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in youth and sports, signed by the Saudi Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, and on the Indonesian side by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ario Bimo Nandito.
3- The two sides signed a technical cooperation program in various fields of standardization, signed by the Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, and on the Indonesian side, by the Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan.
4- The two sides also signed an MoU to cooperate on ensuring the quality of halal products, signed by the CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, Dr. Hisham bin Saad Al-Jadhey, and on the Indonesian side by the CEO of the Halal Products Guarantee Agency, Muhammad Aqil Irham.
The meeting and the signing ceremony were attended by Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet, Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz; Minister of the National Guard, Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah; Minister of Culture Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan; Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi; Minister of Finance, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan; Minister of Investment, Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih; Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Eng. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef; Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim; Advisor at the Royal Court, Mohammed bin Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri; Governor of the Public Investment Fund, Yasir bin Othman Al-Rumayyan; and the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Al-Amoudi.
The ceremony was attended by a number of senior officials from the Indonesian side.
