Hungarian parl’t approves Finland’s NATO membership

The Hungarian parliament ratified Monday Finland’s membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

A large majority of lawmakers – 182 votes for versus six against – approved the step, Hungary’s news agency reported.

The agency said the parliament also discussed Sweden’s NATO membership bid, however the voting process has not been listed on the agenda.

Hungary, along with Turkiye, are the two last countries to okay Finland’s NATO membership. Ankara is also yet to make the same move towards Stockholm. (end) amg.hm
