ICRC commends Kuwait’s support for humanitarian action

Head of Regional Mission of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the GCC States Mamadou Sou has extolled Kuwait’s initiatives backing international humanitarian action.

Speaking to KUNA after meeting with Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Dr. Hilal al-Sayer on Sunday, Mamadou said Kuwait’s humanitarian roles are highly appreciated by international organizations interested in humanitarian and relief action, mainly ICRC.

He expressed his appreciation to Kuwait for its support to the regional mission in the Gulf, lauding also KRCS continued backing to the internally displaced persons all over the world so as so alleviate their sufferings.

Meanwhile, Al-Sayer voiced readiness of KRCS to coordinate and cooperate with the ICRC and all international humanitarian organizations.

He indicated that the committee is a vital partner in developing mechanism of humanitarian cooperation and enhancing common action. He reviewed the key relief and humanitarian action provided by the society inside and outside Kuwait, out of humanitarian role played in all fields.
