The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed the governance of the people and their authority over everyone who serves them or otherwise.

Al-Hakim said in the Eid al-Fitr prayer sermon that was held in his office in Baghdad: “The democratic achievement through the consolidation of the foundations of freedom, pluralism, and the peaceful transfer of power overcame decades of tyranny, dictatorship, and the dominance of one party and the sole ruler.”

He added, “Our people’s constant equation is that they have the power to stay or leave for everyone who serves their interests or deviates from the legal paths they impose, each according to his position, and this deliberative democratic achievement is the greatest victory for any people yearning for freedom, justice, and people’s rule for themselves.”
