Interior Minister: Anti-drug Security Campaign Generates Tangible Results

Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, said the anti-drug security campaign had achieved tangible results, hailing the significant role played by the security personnel in this regard.

The minister conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the commanders of the security departments engaged in the anti-drug security campaign.

Reviewing the workflow from the central operations room at the ministry’s headquarters, the minister stressed that the campaign had achieved tangible results with HRH the Crown Prince’s support, guidance and leadership.

The campaign is still in its infancy and will continue to deliver strong blows in the confrontation of drug dealers and traffickers, the minister said, adding that the campaign will remain firm and will not allow traffickers or dealers to target our youth or tamper with security by any means.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud hailed the great efforts made by the security personnel in the fight against drugs while their sense of duty to preserve the homeland’s security and protect the nation against the danger of drugs is commendable.

He directed that his greetings be conveyed to the security personnel working in all regions across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the minister lauded the citizens’ awareness and their role in combating drugs by reporting drug dealers and traffickers to the police, stressing that all reports by citizens are dealt with in complete confidentiality.

Director of Public Security, Lieutenant-General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Bassami, briefed the interior minister on the most prominent outcome of the anti-drug security missions achieved over the past period.

The Vice Minister of Interior, Dr. Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Daoud, and the Assistant Minister of Interior for Operations Affairs, Lieutenant-General Saeed bin Abdullah Al-Qahtani, attended the meeting.
