Iraq Condemns the Continuous Violations Of the Zionist Entity Against Palestinian Civil Society Orgs.

Iraq condemned the continuous violations of the Zionist entity against Palestinian civil society organizations and human rights defenders and the forcible deportation of them.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement, “This came in Iraq’s speech delivered” by the Head of the Human Rights Department, Minister Plenipotentiary Hussein Mansour Al-Safi, during the interactive dialogue with the Independent International Commission for Investigation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, which was held within the framework of the fifty-third session of the Human Rights Council at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, in which he renewed Iraq’s full support for the ICRC and its mandate.

The statement added, “Iraq expressed its condemnation of the ongoing violations of the occupying power against Palestinian civil society organizations and human rights defenders, their forced deportation, and the suppression of freedom of the press and media, stressing that it is a systematic policy aimed at undermining the work of those organizations and silencing their voices defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.”

The statement continued, “Iraq renewed the call for the international community” to assume its responsibilities to stop the crimes of the occupying power against the Palestinian people, and to end its illegal occupation of the Palestinian lands, and stressed that the only way to achieve peace is to end the occupation, respect the rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination and establish their independent state with its capital. Al-Quds Al-Sharif.”
