Iraqi Olympic Football Team Begins Its First Training Units In Basra, In Preparation For The Continental Qualifiers

The Iraqi Olympic football team started this evening, Wednesday, its first training units in the sports city stadiums in Basra, in preparation for the continental qualifiers that Kuwait will host in early September.

The Olympic team will have an internal camp in Basra, which will last 17 days, before going to Kuwait to play the continental qualifiers.

The coach, Captain Radi Shenaishel, chose 24 players to participate in Basra camp, and during the camp, the final list that will compete in the qualifiers will be selected.

The Olympic team will play four test matches in Basra, two matches with the Sudan national team on the twenty-first and twenty-fifth of this month, and a match with the Yemen national team on the twenty-eighth of it, to meet the Oman national team on the thirty-first of the month.

It is noteworthy that the Olympic team will compete in the Asian under-23 qualifiers in Group F, along with Kuwait, Timor-Leste and Macau.
