The Israeli occupation government decided on Monday to halt the passage of the judicial reforms plan indefinitely.
The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement carried by the Israeli media outlets that he had informed the leaders of the coalition government of the decision to postpone.
A number of areas in Israel witnessed mass demonstrations rejecting the judicial plan, coinciding with a general strike that affected workers, universities and airports, while the occupation police arrested a number of protesters on charges of “disturbing order”.
Protests escalated last night following Netanyahu’s sacking of the Israeli Minister of Defense for refusing the judicial amendments. (end) wab.mb
