His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received the visiting US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin alongside Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah on Wednesday.
Austin relayed President Joe Biden’s greetings, who expressed his country’s gratitude for Kuwait’s humanitarian role in facilitating the safe transit of people from Afghanistan, which helped make the US’ evacuation plans a success, according to an Amiri Diwan statement.
Biden also underlined his country’s unwavering support for the security and stability of Kuwait, the statement mentioned.
For his part, His Highness the Amir expressed his appreciation for the sentiments, wishing the president the best of health, and his nation, further growth and prosperity.
The encounter went on to illustrate the two countries’ shared keenness to boost their distinguished bilateral relations and means to increase cooperation alongside the latest developments in the region.
