– Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of Social Affairs and Community Development Fahad Al-Shariaan affirmed that Kuwait attaches special care to the elderly.
This came in remarks by the minister on the occasion of the World Day for Older Persons, aiming of strengthening the role of the elderly in society and raising awareness of the importance of providing health and psychological care for this segment.
He also noted that Kuwait’s great priority on older persons comes through what was stipulated in Article (11) of the constitution, and accordingly, Law No. 18 of 2016 was issued regarding social care for the elderly, which provides medical, social, and psychological care.
Moreover, he expressed his sincere thanks to all workers in the service of the elderly in the social care sector represented by the Department of Elderly Care for all the efforts made in this regard.
