— Kuwait Basketball Association (KBA) said on Sunday that the national basketball players began their preparation for the third Gulf games to be hosted by Kuwait next January.
It is the first championship for the Kuwaiti team since 2019 after the suspension of games due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
The Kuwaiti team are eyeing the trophy especially the games are held in Kuwait that will attract many Kuwaiti fans.
The team began its training session in preparation for the tourney, which includes six GCC teams, Thamer Al-Shanfa, head of KBA teams’ committee, told KUNA.
The players will continue their training on a daily basis until they begin a training camp in Turkey on December 14-31, he added.
During the camp, Kuwait’s players will play with some Turkish teams during that period and return home to enter an internal camp before the start of the championship on January 7, he noted
