Kuwait Cabinet voices satisfaction about Amir successful tests

The Kuwaiti Cabinet expressed Monday its pleasure at the return of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the homeland after conducting successfully his usual medical examinations in Italy.

During the weekly meeting led by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Cabinet prayed to Allah the Almighty to protect His Highness the Amir and bestow him everlasting good health.

Meanwhile, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hamad Al-Adwani briefed the Cabinet on the launch of the first Kuwaiti satellite (KuwaitSat 1) aboard a space rocket from the Space X platform in Florida, the USA, Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Barrak Al-Shaitan said in a statement after the meeting.

Prepared by scientific departments at Kuwait College of Science and Technology (KCST), Kuwait University, this project came after hard work over three years that was implemented by a 45-memebr Kuwaiti team including men and women who gained various training experiences. The project was totally backed by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences.

The Cabinet extolled aspirations of Kuwait’s participants in this national scheme that set the first Kuwaiti fingerprint in space.

The Cabinet said that this pivotal stage in Kuwait’s space record came through a careful planning and a sound national vision based on institutional work to prepare nationals to be the nucleus of Kuwaiti space work in the future.

Moreover, the Cabinet discussed the recommendation of the education, health and youth committee on the study aiming at developing public education. The Cabinet tasked Minister of Education, and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research with taking appropriate steps in this matter, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

On political affairs on the Arab and international arenas, the Cabinet voiced Kuwait’s sympathy with the US over the snowstorm recently hit a number of states that led killed and wounded several people.

In addition, the Cabinet expressed Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attack on a security checkpoint in Ismailia Governorate, northeastern Egypt, that killed and wounded some personnel.

The Cabinet affirmed Kuwait’s principled and firm position that rejects violence and terrorism, stressing its solidarity and standing side by side with Egypt in this terrorist act.

It voiced sincere sympathy of Kuwait to Egypt, its leader, the government, people and the families of victims, wishing a rapid recovery to those injured.
