Kuwait charity opens two villages for displaced families in Yemen

Kuwait Al-Najat Charity opened up two villages in Al-Habdan and Al-Ajil in Yemen to house internally displaced persons as part of a campaign that started on November 20 and lasts until December 5.

The charity’s initiative comes within the framework of Kuwait’s humanitarian role in providing aid to afflicted people and communities, and stems from the Al-Najat’s s belief in the importance of charitable work around the world, charity official Ehab Al-Dabous told KUNA by phone on Sunday.

Al-Dabous explained that the two villages include 51 housing units, 20 of which are in the Yemeni governorate of Ta’iz, while the remaining 31 units are located in Lahj governorate, in addition to providing health centers and mosques equipped with a solar energy powered system.

He added that these two villages, opened on Wednesday and Thursday, also provide services including drilling wells, establishing networks and reservoirs, equipment for pumping water.

The two villages aim to enable families in need by providing them with a permanent source of income, noted Al-Dabous, expressing his hope that this will contribute to improving the displaced families’ lives in Yemen
