Kuwait continues to monitor monkeypox as cases emerge globally – spokesman

Kuwait is expanding local surveillance as cases of monkeypox , a type of viral infection more common to west and central Africa, are spreading in some parts of the world, the government’s spokesman said on Monday.

There have been no reported cases of monkeypox in Kuwait, Tareq Al-Mezrem told KUNA after a cabinet meeting, stressing that the health ministry continues to monitor the situation on a global level.
