Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Wednesday the Counselor of the United State Department Derek Chollet at the ministry headquarters on the occasion of his visit to Kuwait.

The two sides discussed latest developments on the regional and international scenes specially the current situation in Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine.

The Foreign Minister renewed the supportive Kuwaiti stand toward resorting to peaeful means to resolve crises in the region and stressed the need to back international efforts aimed at stopping escalation to find a peaceful solution in accordance with international law.

For his part, the American official praised the efforts and endeavors undertaken by the State of Kuwait consolidating the pillars of maintaining international peace and security in the region.

Other issues of mutual interests were discussed during the meeting
