The Kuwaiti government absolutely abides by the constitution, specifically Article 50, its spokesman Tareq Al-Mezrem said on Thursday, rebuffing recent reports on interference in another authority’s affairs as being “totally divorced from reality”.

“The government entirely commits to the provisions of the constitution whose Article 50 states that the (country’s) ruling be based on the separation of powers, along with cooperation among them as per the constitution. Any authority cannot give up all or part of its powers enshrined in the constitution,” the spokesman said in a press statement.
