Kuwait Kayak Fishing Championship was held under Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Causeway on Friday with more than 40 competitors vying for prices in three different categories.

Mohammad Al-Sayed ranked first in total-point category, followed by Hussain Al-Ansari and Essa Al-Fahad in the second and third places, respectively.

Again, Mohammad Al-Sayed came atop of the weight category, followed by Abdullah Al-Asfoor and Mohammad Al-Abdullah in the second and third places, respectively.

In the third category – the length of the catch, Abdullah Al-Otaibi led the race, as Hussain Al-Ansari and Essa Al-Fahad, came second and third, respectively.

The one-day competition was held under the patronage of the General Sports Authority with the immersion of worldwide competitors, Board Chairman of Kuwait Sea Sports Club Mohammad Al-Zanki told KUNA.

The Club is aiming to brand this hobie fishing sport and encourage more and more participants to get involved in this Fishing category series, as it is globally, he added.
