Kuwait lists 1,189 COVID-19 cases, 10 deaths

Kuwait’s daily coronavirus cases jumped by 1,189 to 385,762 total infections, as deaths rose by 10 to 2,221 patients, the Spokesman for health ministry Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said on Sunday.

Another 1,428 people were cured from the virus, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 366,935 patients, Al-Sanad said in a statement to KUNA, adding the country’s percentage in terms of recoveries reached 95.12 percent.

The number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 16,606 patients, with 328 of them in intensive care units, he added, revealing that another 1,123 are receiving regular treatment in hospital wards.

Some 14,690 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of 3,238,986 tests, mentioned the official.

He went on to urge nationals and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus.
