Kuwait lists six COVID-19 deaths, 1,557 infections

— Kuwait’s Ministry of Health on Wednesday said that 1,557 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours, taking the caseload to 332,570.

The number of total recoveries rose to 314,218 after confirming 1,368 in the same period, Spokesman for the Ministry Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA.

The death toll from the virus climbed to 1,837 after registering six mortalities in the corresponding period, Al-Sanad stated.

He noted that 16,515 patients are hospitalized, in addition to 186 cases at intensive care units.

Total medical swabs has risen to 2.788 million after conducting 12,908 in 24 hours, he stated, indicating that the ratio between recoveries and swabs is 12.06 percent today.

Al-Sanad renewed call for both citizens and residents to abide by health precautions and physical distancing, as well as avoid gatherings.

He further urged the public to follow up official accounts of the ministry and the state’s bodies to be briefed on guidelines and recommendations in order to control the spread of the virus.
