Kuwait MPs to examine conflict of interests, penal code

– Kuwait’s National Assembly upcoming sessions due on Tuesday and Wednesday are set to examine tabled items, namely voting on conflict of interest draft laws, and amendments to the penal code.

The conflict of interests’ bill, to be voted on in second deliberation, serves the reinforcement of transparency.

Then, the session is set to move on to voting on a draft law amending the penal code specifying penal responsibility for the judicial person in corruption cases.

Further on the session’s agenda are a slew of parliamentary committee reports including the residential committee, the health and social affairs committee, and the interior and defense committee report on constituency amendments, and another on the parliament’s elections.

Suggestion by MP Abdulkareem Al-Kandari on Kuwaitization of National Assembly jobs, is also scheduled to be discussed in the upcoming session along with Audit Bureau reports, including report on Eurofighter deal, as well as a number of other items.
