Kuwait regular parliament session begins

Kuwait’s National Assembly Speaker Ahmad Al-Saadoun inaugurated on Tuesday the weekly regular session with a host of issues on the table for discussion namely a bill to re-examine the topic of conflicting interests.

The session kick-started with the MPs examining letters and complaints. They will proceed with voting, in the second reading, on a bill regarding the conflict of interests and another on amending the penal code for defining the penal responsibility for the legal person in corruption cases.

The agenda includes a report by the committee of housing and property affairs on the bill for establishing companies for towns construction on state-owned land plots, a report on re-defining electoral constituencies and election of members of the higher election commission, Moreover, the legislators will tackle a bill on replacing the term “domestic worker” with “maid” and forming an interim panel to resolve issue of the retirees’ pensions
