Kuwait reports seven COVID-19 deaths, 1,209 infections

Kuwait’s Ministry of Health on Friday reported seven new COVID-19 deaths, and 1,209 infections in the past 24 hours.

The Ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA that the total fatalities increased to 1,628, and the caseload to 282,981 since the beginning of the pandemic.

He added that the total recoveries have reached 266,917 after 1,387 patients recovered from coronavirus today making the recovery rate 94.3 percent out of the conducted tests.

Moreover, 14,436 patients in total are receiving health care, including 206 at intensive care units, he said.

Meanwhile, over the past 24 hours 9,604 tests were conducted, with infection rate 12.6 percent, making the total conducted tests 2,388,785, he added.

Al-Sanad renewed his call on the public to maintain social distancing, and to abide with all health regulations that would help in stopping the virus spread.
